Good Faith Estimate

You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate (GFE) explaining how much your mental health care may cost.

Under federal law, health care providers are required to give clients who don’t have insurance—or who choose not to use insurance—an estimate of expected charges for medical items and services.

Here’s what you need to know:

  • Upfront estimate: You’re entitled to a written Good Faith Estimate at least 1 business day before your scheduled service.

  • What’s included: The estimate will outline the expected total cost of your services, which may include session fees, related costs, and any additional fees we discuss ahead of time.

  • If your bill is higher: If you receive a bill that is $400 or more above your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the charge.

  • Keep a copy: Save a copy or photo of your Good Faith Estimate for your records.
